RUMAHPRODUKTIFINDONESIA.COM – Dalam rangka memperingati Hari Ulang Tahun Republik Indonesia yang ke-79, Penulis Indonesia Yanuardi Syukur kembali menunjukkan kepeduliannya terhadap isu-isu global dengan menyelesaikan buku terbarunya berjudul “Memahami Isu Global Kontemporer.” Buku ini diselesaikan dalam waktu singkat, hanya satu minggu, dari 12 – 19 Agustus 2024.
Yanuardi Syukur mengamati bahwa banyak isu global yang menjadi perhatian Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB) belum dipahami dengan baik oleh masyarakat luas. Oleh karena itu, ia merasa penting untuk memberikan perspektif yang jelas dan mudah dipahami mengenai isu-isu tersebut.
Menurut Yanuardi, buku ini berfungsi sebagai pengantar bagi publik untuk memahami 24 isu global yang sering dibahas di media, namun sering kali tidak dipahami secara mendalam.
Buku ini dimulai dengan membahas beberapa isu krusial seperti pengungsi, melawan terorisme, dekolonisasi, pengakhiran kemiskinan, perdamaian dan keamanan, hak asasi manusia, serta kesetaraan gender.
Selain itu, lanjut Wakil Ketua Islamic and Middle East Research Center (IMERC) SKSG UI tersebut, buku ini juga mengupas isu-isu penting lainnya seperti hukum internasional dan keadilan, migrasi internasional, demokrasi, populasi, kepemudaan, serta penggunaan big data untuk pembangunan berkelanjutan.
“Isu-isu seperti keselamatan anak dan remaja di internet, energi atom, pelucutan senjata, kesehatan, pangan, penuaan, AIDS, serta tantangan yang dihadapi Afrika, lautan dan hukum kelautan, air, dan perubahan iklim juga menjadi fokus dalam buku ini,” katanya.
Yanuardi menekankan bahwa pemahaman terhadap isu-isu global sangat penting bagi masyarakat umum.
Pada tahun 2019, Yanuardi Syukur berkesempatan mengunjungi Markas Besar PBB di New York setelah menghadiri Ministerial Meeting yang diselenggarakan oleh Kementerian Luar Negeri Amerika Serikat.
Selain itu, ia juga melakukan kunjungan ke Washington, D.C., dan Pittsburgh, yang semakin memperkaya wawasan dan pengalamannya terkait isu-isu global dan menerbitkan buku sekembalinya ke Jakarta.
Ia berharap buku tersebut dapat menjadi sumber informasi yang bermanfaat bagi masyarakat yang ingin lebih memahami dinamika isu-isu global yang mempengaruhi kehidupan kita sehari-hari.
Selama 20 tahun terakhir, Yanuardi terlibat dalam menerbitkan buku dan kaderisasi penulis Indonesia yang berfokus pada studi isu-isu global. Pada event G20 ia menginisiasi buku Recover Together Recover Stronger yang diluncurkan di Perpusnas RI. Selain itu, ia juga inisiasi buku ASEAN Episentrum Pertumbuhan Dunia pada 2023 dan Menyambut Ibu Kota Negara Nusantara pada 2024.
