Untuk merealisasikan misi MUI go international, delegasi Muhibah Maroko Spanyol MUI 2024 melakukan kunjungan persahabatan ke komunitas Muslim Spanyol di Cordoba, Spanyol, Ahad (28/4/2024).

Komunitas tersebut tergabung dalam sebuah organisasi masyarakat yg diberi nama Junta Islamica yang merupakan organisasi nirlaba, independen, nasionalis, dan pluralis.

Organisasi ini didirikan pada tahun 1989 sebagai tindak lanjut kesepakatan antara Kerajaan Spanyol dan Komite Islam Spanyol.

Junta Islamica berupaya mendorong perkembangan pemahaman Islam universal yang memadukan antara spiritualitas dengan modernitas dan humanisme, serta berupaya untuk memperkokoh demokrasi dan koeksistensi melalui kegiatan dakwah, pendidikan, dan praktik mediasi antar budaya.

Junta Islamica dipimpin oleh Mansur Escudero sampai beliau wafat pada 3 Oktober 2010. Escudero merupakan salah satu pendiri Komisi Islam Spanyol dan pendiri Federasi Entitas Keagamaan Islam Spanyol (FEERI).

Kehadiran delegasi MUI ke pusat kegiatan Junta Islamica yang berada dekat kastil Muzhafar di Cordoba disambut oleh beberapa pengurusnya, yaitu Syekh Mustafa Hasan selaku ketua bidang keagamaan, Syekh walina selaku auditor halal di lembaga halal, dan Yusuf Escudero selaku ketua bidang komunikasi dan informasi. Yusuf Escudero adalah putra Mansur Escudero.

Menurut Yusuf Escudero, Junta Islamica memiliki berbagai program pendidikan, sosial-budaya, dan informasi-komunikasi, serta mendirikan institut halal sebagai badan sertifikasi halal.

Menurut Muhammad Escudero yang juga putera pendiri lembaga ini, institut halal bertanggung jawab atas sertifikasi barang dan layanan di Spanyol dan Amerika Latin agar sesuai dengan ketentuan syariat Islam dan dapat dikonsumsi oleh umat Islam.

Selama 25 tahun, Institut halal telah memiliki 500 klien di seluruh dunia dan akan terus berusaha untuk mempromosikan standar pasar halal yang terstandardisasi di Spanyol dan Amerika Latin.

Terkait dengan standar dan prosedur penetapan halal syekh Walina menjelaskan bahwa mereka telah mengikuti kriteria dan prosedur MUI. Bahkan pihaknya, menurutnya telah mengirimkan calon-calon auditor untuk belajar dalam Indonesian Halal Regulation Product Assurance System.

Terkait dengan itu, Sekjen MUI Dr. Amirsyah Tambunan berjanji bahwa MUI siap untuk memberikan dukungan yang lebih luas terkait dengan penguatan kapasitas institut halal.

Di samping itu, MUI siap berkolaborasi dengan Institut Halal Spanyol untuk mengembangkan trend halal di Spanyol dan negara-negara Eropa lainnya.

Sementara itu Prof. Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim selaku ketua Bidang HLNKI MUI menegaskan urgensi kerjasama MUI dengan Junta Islamica untuk menghadapi berbagai kemungkinan tindakan diskriminatif terhadap minoritas Islam di Spanyol akibat sekularisme dan Islamophobia.

Menurut Guru Besar UIN Jakarta tersebut, kerjasama Muslim Indonesia-Spanyol yang direpresentasikan oleh MUI dan Junta Islamica akan dapat membawa kembali kejayaan Islam di Andalusia.
